wild blueberry hike

there is a nature preserve trail on one of the mountains near our home.  the trail is a short, easy walk for my two small children and the views from the summit are stunning.  last year, we did this walk in mid-july and were pleasantly surprised by the ample wild blueberries growing along the trail.  we were also surprised by the big old black bear we saw ambling along the woods line- no doubt searching for those berries!

we decided to make the hike again this year with blueberries, black bears and the added letterbox adventure on our minds.  our furry friend was a no show and the letterbox was a no-find…but we found berries and a view!
