Hi, I’m Amber.  I’m a stay at home mama living in southern rural Vermont with 2 kids (6.5y and almost 4y), 1 hubby, 1 dog, 3 cats, 7 hens and 1 rooster!
I am an artist by nature, a painter by training and a daily crafter/diy’er.
My kids and I unschool.  Meaning we don’t go to school.  Or do “school” at home.  We do learn an awful lot though.  Sometimes the stuff I list will seem mundane, like everyday play (that’s how I find we learn best!), sometimes we’ll be working on exciting projects, sometimes we’ll be visiting museums…it’s all part of our days and it’s how we learn.  You may wonder why I sometimes list worksheets in our activities…these are all pursued by my kids because they want to do them (they’re kinda worksheet junkies right now).
These lists are also in no way comprehensive.  I jot notes throughout the days and weeks when I think of it…there is much we do, and learn from that I forget to write down.
The purpose of this blog is two-fold.  I need a convenient way to document what we’re learning on a week to week basis…and I also hope some of the projects and links contained here spark some ideas to use in your own home or classroom.  I do not intend to set forth how unschooling *should* look.  There is no one right way to unschool.  Furthermore, we have many dear friends who use the public school system, private schools and a homeschool approach utilizing curriculum…and they are all fantastic because it works for them.  This is simply what works best for us.

Welcome to our week to week rambling and thanks for stopping by!
